PervADS (Pervasive, personalized and smart advertisements)

In the recent years, the proliferation of data-intensive information services (e.g., e-commerce portals, yellow and white pages, online public administration services, etc.) along with the development of pervasive technologies (e.g., GPS technology, wireless sensor networks, RFIDs, etc. ) provided new opportunities for dynamic and on-the-fly integration of various information sources. The previously accepted concept of information services as simple aggregators of information (i.e., service providers in a “data-as-service” paradigm) is now shading into a new concept of information sources intended as providers of on-demand and personalized information, which should be not aggregated any longer by the data provider but, instead, directly by user devices (e.g., mobile phones) which know the owner’s intentions, preferences and habits.
